The biggest downfall was I would have to go to other employment because the weekly pay and no subsidies, no benefits, I had to make a living and newspaper deliveries was not enough.Mrs. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting up early seeing the sun come up before most of the area where I had deliveries Driving in the snow and rain it presented a challenge but was enjoyable and when I finished deliveries I could be done until the next day. The hardest part of the job was keeping your vehicle running with the sad income being earned, going out in a blizzard with 2 to 4 feet of snow during winter storms, driving off road where your vehicle simply could not make it without getting stuck, alot. This pay wage was controlled by the owner of the Mountain Mail. Management was understanding with limitations, knowing that at $.08 cents per paper there was never any way for an individual to gain. I realized that if I could have changed employment at any time I would have done something more productive andnot go broke weekly and destroying seven vehicles in the process. Hours beginning from 12am to 3am deliveries to take approximately 4 to 5 hours, traveling 75 miles per day, 5 days a week. Arrive at pick up site for bundles of papers and any changes for that day.
